About Me

Hi! I'm John, and this is my website - I use it as a place to host interesting content and represent myself online.

I was raised for eighteen years on the island of Kwajalein, a U.S. Army Base in the Marshall Islands, located about halfway between Hawaii and Australia.

From 2014 to 2019 I was a student at Stanford University, where I earned my B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science, with a concentration in Artificial Intelligence, though my coursework spanned a broad area somewhere in the middle of statistics, optimization, and machine learning, and other kinds of math. When I'm wasn't working on my academics, I was singing with my a cappella group, The Stanford Mendicants, teaching computer science courses (as a section leader for Stanford's introductory courses, CS 106A, CS 106B, and CS 106X), or exploring one of Stanford's many beautiful roofs.

After graduating from Stanford, I moved to New York where I currently live and work as a Quantitative Researcher for Two Sigma. In my spare time, I enjoy taking long walks around the city, going for bike rides, playing computer games, reading, and spending time with my friends.
